eNews Update - November 2025

Dear Friends of Resilient Ready,

The past 11 months have been an incredibly focused time for us and, if we're honest, a little frenetic as we have worked hard to turn our Founder Renae Hanvin's vision of measurable and mappable social capital into a reality.

We have also been busy delivering on other core projects, and were delighted to be recently nominated as a finalist in the national Resilient Australia Awards for our tailormade Future Ready Grape and Wine Business Pilot project in collaboration with the Torres Resilience Initiative. Our cheeky #bridgingties image of a viewfinder on a camera (see below) was also a finalist in the Awards.

Last month, the Resilient Ready team proudly unveiled our National Social Capital + Social Infrastructure Measurement Framework. And this month we begin the work of wrapping up that pilot project, formally concluding in February 2026, following the news our DRF3 project submission was unsuccessful despite widespread support from all States and Territories.

We want to congratulate the people behind the many excellent projects that were successful with their funding bids, and take a moment to appreciate the recognition that disaster planning and preparedness is now attracting at all levels of government and community. Together we are stronger!

While our pilot funding wasn't extended, this isn't the end! We have worked too hard to allow the momentum to ease up, so visit https://sociabli.resilientready.org – our new arm dedicated to building social capital and social infrastructure capability. Our focus on data, mapping, training and consulting continues to build momentum – putting social capital in the spotlight where it belongs.

As we like to say at Resilient Ready: 'If we don’t measure it, we can’t value it.'

And our Framework isn't just for government. It's an incredibly powerful data-rich tool that can be easily scaled for corporates looking to build resilience around their own communities and operations. If that has piqued your interest, get in touch!

The Resilient Ready Team.
