eNews Update - April 2026

Dear Friends of Resilient Ready,

Despite (or perhaps because of!) all the uncertainty we are all operating with against the backdrop of global conflict and the ensuing supply chain disruptions, it has been a busy time at Resilient Ready.

We've been talking with many local councils about our game-changing social capital mapping tool, Sociabli, and how it can support future funding applications and build awareness of a community's strengths and social connections. As the EOFY closes in, there is a narrowing gap to measure your LGA's social capital this financial year so your council can make better decisions, target support where it’s needed, and strengthen communities before challenges hit in 2026-27.

Founder Renae Hanvin is also preparing to deliver the keynote address at the WA Local Government Emergency Management Forum 2026 in Perth next month.

Meanwhile, team member Fiona Jago has been busy in Far North Queensland running our Business Ready Together series of discussions, which have enjoyed an enthusiastic reception so far.

And for a bit of levity, from the Resilient Ready Disaster Files, we bring you Lettucegate! Renae was recently interviewed by ABC radio, speaking about her three brushes with major disasters, but went on to assure the interviewer that she certainly wasn't jinxed. As she walked into a shop to buy lettuce on the way home, the shop's fire alarm went off, triggering a full-scale evacuation and an unexpected dinner menu pivot.

Which just goes to show no one is immune to disruptions, big or small, no matter how many times you have had a brush with disaster!

If you're keen to talk to us about building resilience, growing social capital within your community, or boosting your disaster preparedness as a business, organisation, or not-for-profit, get in touch.

The Resilient Ready Team.
