eNews Update - February 2026

Dear Friends of Resilient Ready,

The year has got off to a roaring start for Resilient Ready, with Founder Renae Hanvin invited to attend the recent World Governments Summit in Dubai. The invitation was just the first part of the surprise; the second was having our work singled out for global attention as part of the Edge 50!

The Edge 50 is a global list celebrating 50 cutting-edge initiatives that push the boundaries of what is possible in government. The Edge 50 list was launched by Apolitical and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (MBRCGI) at last week’s World Governments Summit.

Not only did Resilient Ready make the list, but we are a Top 10 finalist! It’s such an honour to be included alongside so many inspiring initiatives from around the world. Together, the success of these projects can spark new thinking and fresh confidence to transform how public value is delivered for citizens and communities.

To quote from The Edge 50 list, "Sociabli is creating a groundbreaking map that shows where communities are socially strong or fragile ... Sociabli opens the door to a new way of planning for disasters - one where governments can strengthen communities in advance, target support where it is most needed and rethink what resilience looks like beyond physical infrastructure."

Closer to home, we've been talking with councils from across Australia about our popular business community resilience program. Resilient Ready is excited to share that we'll be launching our new-look program next month, starting in Far North Queensland! Stay tuned...

And we recently wrapped up our Business Beyond Disasters project with the NSW Reconstruction Authority, and received some wonderful feedback from participants. There were quite a few learnings from the project, including that most businesses are not using an all-hazards approach to their disaster planning, and that tourism businesses are less inclined to back up their essential information. If this sounds like your organisation, it's time to change things up - get in touch
